2ND DEGREE BLACK BELT

Angel Vargas is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a 3X IBJJF Open Black Belt Silver Medalist. Coach Angel also holds a Black Belt in Taekwondo and a Yellow-White Pra Jiad in Muay Thai.

BLUE PRA JIAD

Bryan Hartpence has decades of experience as a Trainer/Manager in Boxing, Muay Thai, and K-1 for WPMF and WBC. He spent 8 years coaching and training Muay Thai in Thailand and he is a Blue Pra Jiad in Muay Thai. He is also Head Coach of the Warrior MMA Competition Team.

BLACK BELT

Coach Philip is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. He is an American National No-Gi Silver Medalist and a frequent IBJJF World, Pan-Ams and professional BJJ competitor with 30 years of Martial Arts experience.

4TH DEGREE BLACK BELT

Keiser Girao is a 4th Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. Keiser trained with and coached for a variety of UFC World Champions and contenders. He is the coach of multiple IBJJF Black Belt World Champions, including Matheus Gabriel and Samuel Nagai.

Coach G is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is also an IBJJF Pan Ams Masters No-Gi Silver Medalist and a Warrior BJJ Competition Team Coach.

Wendell Martin is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. He is an IBJJF Dallas Open Gi Masters Champion, a 2X IBJJF Dallas Open No-Gi Masters Champion and a Bronze Medalist at IBJJF Pans No-Gi.

BLUE-WHITE PRA JIAD

Coach Bilal is a Pro MMA fighter and veteran of Legacy Fighting Alliance. He has extensive Muay Thai training experience in Thailand with UFC athletes, and he holds the rank of Blue-White Pra Jiad in Muay Thai.

BROWN BELT

Sam Kim is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is the Central Frisco Kids BJJ Competition Team Head Coach. His experience includes 15 years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training, coaching and competing and 10 years of Muay Thai training and coaching.

5TH DEGREE BLACK BELT

J.D. Shelley holds the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is a 2X Pancrase MMA Champion and a 2X IBJJF Masters World No Gi Champion. He is also a Blue Pra Jiad in Muay Thai.

HEAD WRESTLING COACH

Precious Essien is the Head Wrestling Coach at the Central Frisco gym, with 8 years of experience in the sport. He was a former Division 1 wrestler for the University of Missouri at 141lbs and 149lbs. He also had State Runner-Up finishes in Texas Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournaments.

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR, PURPLE BELT
Nicole Fagan is one of our assistant BJJ instructors at the Central Frisco location. She is a Purple Belt under J.D. Shelley, registered with the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF). Nicole has 6 years of experience in BJJ experience.

BLACK BELT

Edgardo Hernandez has 20 years of kickboxing, Muay Thai, boxing and MMA experience with a black belt under the World Association of Kickboxing (W.A.K.O.). He is our kids and adult instructor for our West Mckinney location.

BROWN BELT

Luis Portela is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is a coach at our Central Frisco and Little Elm Warrior Martial Arts Locations. Coach Luis also hold a 4th Degree Black Belt from the Degerberg Academy of Martial Arts in Chicago, IL, and a 3rd Degree Black Belt from Ricks Kicks in Frisco, TX. His experience includes over 30 years of training in various styles including Boxing, Kali, Silat, Thai Boxing, Kenpo, Karate, Kung Fu, Capoeria, Savate, Jeet Kune Do, and Kick Boxing.

WRESTLING COACH

Cameron Steele is one of our kid’s wrestling coaches at Central Frisco with 6 years of wrestling experience, earning himself district champion in 2015. He is a certified and active firefighter and EMT.

CO-FOUNDER, BROWN BELT

Ian Cohen is a Co-Founder of Warrior Martial Arts Academy. He is a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a Green-White Pra Jiad in Muay Thai. Ian is also a United States Fight League Certified MMA Coach and a Warrior MMA Competition Team Coach.

Pamela Cohen is a Co-Founder of Warrior Martial Arts Academy. She is a 3rd Degree Black Belt, a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and a Kids Muay Thai Coach.

Ivaniel Oliveira is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, 3x Masters World IBJJF champion, and an IBJJF Hall of Famer. He is our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor for our West Plano location. 

Head Muay Thai

Cory Minton has been coaching and training successful fighters for decades. He has trained all over the world including Dubai and Thailand. As a coach he has been pivotal in the successes in the fighters he has trained. He is the Head Muay Thai coach over at East Flower Mound.
